 The application proposes the uprating of existing overhead lines (OHL) XX and XR routes from 275kV to 400kV. XX OHL runs between Easterhouse substation and Newarthill substation. While XR route runs between Newarthill substation and Wishaw substation. The uprating shall comprise replacement of existing conductors (overhead line wires), downleads, temporary accesses, tower foundation upgrades and tower strengthening. Four new towers are proposed on XX route at Glenmavis where the proposed new OHL (WB route) connects to XX route. Two permanent towers and one temporary tower are proposed adjacent to Newarthill substation. Ancillary development includes the following: extension to Wishaw substation comprising an extension of the existing substation platform, gantries, outdoor air insulated switch gear, gas insulated busbars, drainage and associated security boundary fence.
